Tour of Great South Coast Day Two

Two storming rides from an in form Anthony Giacoppo secured the Huon Salmon Genesys Pro Cyling team both stages and went some way towards vanquishing the previous days disappointment when he found himself on the wrong side of a split and effectively lost all chance of defending last years overall win.

The stage 3 criterium was ridden in atrocious conditions with arin and wind buffeting the riders as they tackled the 40km circut around Portland’s main streets. AJ managed to get the better of the Euride train in the last lap and took a convincing victory over Scott Law (GPM) and Tom Palmer (Drapac).

Stage four’s 99km was just as brutal and featured a brave ride form Pat Shaw who took the bull by the horns stepping into a small break for the majority of the stage. Pat pulled on the KOM jersey for his trouble and collected enough bonus seconds to move into third outright 54 seconds bhind race leader Sam Horgan. AJ took his second win of the tour in a tight finish after he managed to edge out Alex Edmondson (Euride) and Shannon Johnson (Charter Mason).
