Another stand out performance by the team in the Summer of Cycling with Scott Sunderland making the podium at the inaugural Race Melbourne.
The race is yet another string in the bow of Australian Cycling with all the World Tour Teams from the Tour Down Under taking part in what has been designed as a curtain raiser for the now WT ranked Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road race.
Keen to show what we could do against the best in the world the we chocked the roster with our best sprinting talent all in an effort to get on the podium. The team of Robbie Hucker, Jesse Kerrison, Jeremy Cameron, Pat Lane, Anthony Giacoppo and Scott Sunderland went into the race as complete underdogs but were determined to give Sundo a shot at the sprint. They took responsibility early riding with Orica and Bora Hansgrohe to cover the moves and ensure it came down to a bunch sprint.
The race was won by Sam Bennett (BOH) followed by Danny Van Poppel (SKY) with Sundo in third.
