Huon Salmon Genesys Wealth Advisers riders capped a successful weekend of racing with the team of Ben Dyball, Jack Haig, Kane Walker, Brenton Jones and Pat Shaw flying the orange flag in the Tour of Bright and Jack Beckinsale and Aaron Donnelly racing the NSW Grand Prix Series.
Ben’s win atop Mount Hotham came after a strong TT performance by Haig who finished 4th 45 seconds down on an in form Matt Clarke. Clarke also took out stage 2 nine seconds in front of Rob Power and Jack with Ben back in 12th. The final stage was all or nothing with Matt Clarke just having to stay with his closest challengers. With the length and gradient more to his liking Ben seized his chance and and set off for the summit solo to win 28 seconds ahead of the impressive Rob Power and a minute clear of 3rd placed Chris Hamilton.
Jack held on to finish within range and hold his 3rd overall while Ben’s win moved him up to fourth outright.
In NSW Jack Bekinsale (aka Party Boy) showed that he’s on the right track heading into the early season taking a solo victory over Aussie sprint sensation Caleb Ewan and Belkin sprinter Mark Renshaw. Jack took his chance in the last lap of the Woolongong race holding on by a bike length to claim a great win. Jack finished second overall in the series with his 4th place in Cronulla seeing him finish with 35pts with Ewan first on 38pts and Drapac’s Tom Palmer third 31 pts.
